Ratings
Tasted blind and guessed it right, though I knew the region going in. Mead, fermented mash, a touch of wool (in the best possible way), roasted pumpkin seeds. It definitely improved with air - relatively creamy and rounded, with sharp, exposed acidity and a long finish. Maybe lacking a bit in depth, but the drinkability is off the charts.
While this wine diverges from the typical Chenin Blanc profile, it still presents an appealing character. The bouquet is not overly complex but intriguing, with notes of raw pumpkin seeds, white flowers, and moonshine. On the palate, it is neat and approachable, featuring a commendable acidity complemented by a slightly buttery and sweet sensation that makes it juicy and easy to appreciate. Considering its state, ageing this wine is a questionable quest.
