Same old story - but since when did saying nice things about this wine become my default? The nose is beautiful: cornelian cherry, sour cherry, peonies, a touch of underbrush, and yes, just a little bit of barnyard. On the palate, it's wonderfully juicy, with great structure and balance - so easy to drink and just plain delicious. The tannin still claws a bit, but it doesn't get in the way. Still, there's a pang of regret that we opened it so young. Jura DNA.
Hard to believe I've reached the point where I'm ordering this wine just to lazily sip it at home - and yet here we are. It's so effortlessly enjoyable. Sure, it's not the most stable - sometimes it shows more strength, sometimes less - but it's fascinating to watch its acrobatics in the glass, shifting minute by minute. It's all about cold/tart red berries, underbrush, spice, and a touch of barnyard. That feather-light body tiptoeing the line between charm and pain. Juicy, delicious, a little wild. Like a cat that scratches you, but you still scoop it up for cuddles. Lovely stuff.
There's something darkly funny about how a different vintage of this wine once embodied everything I found repulsive in natural wines. Each bottle was like a test of my tolerance and resilience. Yet this particular vintage keeps showing its beautiful side, time after time. Yes, there's that farmyard thing going on - some horse definitely lives nearby - but it's just a distant note you catch in those first few seconds. Then this fruity-floral core breaks free, with tart berries, wild forest fruits, some red fruits, a touch of wet earth and spice dancing around. Of course it's young! So we're not talking depth here, but rather a juicy breadth - like cornelian cherry kompot with good acidity and gentle tannins. With seven grape varieties in this blend, who knows what's waiting for this wine in the next 5 years. But I doubt I'll find out, since this was my last bottle - I'm just too scared to taste the new release.
This wine boasts a beautiful, perfumed bouquet of red flowers, cherry, ripe dark fruits, compote, and earthy notes, contributing to a quite complex aroma. On the palate, it is juicy and seamless, with good volume and persistence. Delicious and quaffable, it offers a satisfying drinking experience.
This wine reflects a discernible shift in style, a change that I find quite appealing, moving away from its previous eccentricity.
It's not overly complex, yet it possesses an irresistible deliciousness and charm. Subtle brett nuances initially present soon give way to a bounty of ripe and dark fruits, red flowers, and a compote-like richness. The palate is fresh and delightful, supported by good tannins and a long, neat aftertaste. Its mineral backbone adds a refined structure, making it a well-balanced and enjoyable wine.
