Ratings
This wine presents a lovely bouquet that balances fruity and funky notes without allowing the former to dominate. It features a rich array of Nordic berries, red fruits, spices, and raw meat, with subtle undertones of pickles and autumn leaves somewhere on the background.
On the palate, the wine showcases tight acidity, which, when paired with its decent fruitiness and medium body, creates a refreshing yet somewhat challenging tasting experience. The finish introduces a hint of spiciness, alongside intriguing notes of blood and pickled tomato.
Not an easy wine for sure. But complex and quite delicious as it opens up over time. Obviously, too young.
Enderle&Moll
Small German winery from Baden founded in 2006 by two wine college graduates Sven Enderle and Florian Moll. They were fortunate enough to get their hands on some pretty old plots of Pinot Noir sites (planted in 1953). They follow a philosophy of Low Intervention and Sustainable Vineyard Management.
Enderle and Moll are considered to be a cult even by Jancis Robinson. Some consider them the best Pinot Noir producers in Germany. I lack qualification and experience to support this claim, so I am going to challenge it through tasting.
