Tasting Notes
A time capsule - unchanged, holding steady just as before. Moderately funky but undeniably charming and delightful. Incredibly easy to drink, with a mix of spices, forest berries, olives, barberry candy, dogwood, and a touch of earth. Not overly complex, but well-executed, precise, and effortlessly quaffable. A nice mineral edge ties it all together. Tingy, a bit tannic, fresh and so juicy!
This wine remains much the same as it did a year ago, still exhibiting a moderated funk in its stride, which I find delightful. It offers a juicy, effortlessly enjoyable experience, balancing elevated spice with fruity notes. It's so approachable that finishing a whole bottle is easy. The palate presents a medley of olives, spices, barberry candy, dogwood, wild strawberries, and earthy undertones.
A tidy ensemble of Grenache Gris and Grenache Noir, this wine steps forward with a moderated funk in its stride. The bouquet is a wild berry rendezvous - lingonberry, cranberry, dogwood, and wild strawberry. All that with a touch of red bruised apples. Complexity isn't the guest of honor here; instead, a lively juiciness takes the spotlight. It's easy-going, nearly striking a perfect chord in balance, and unapologetically delicious. This is a straightforward pleasure, no pretense, just a refreshing, berry-laden jaunt.
About
Tattouine Rouge? A deserted moon-like sphere on a label? If the corners of your lips are not dancing, you might be living under a rock. My congratulations, Patrick! On the other hand, Louis/Dressner says the name comes from a single vineyard of red schist soils named Tattouine (and not Tatooine, by the way).
Whole-cluster, four week maceration. Pressed and racked into 2500L foudre for aging. No sulpher added to the wine.
