Oh, I just love this wine—and love even more how delicate and subtle it has become with time. The nose is gently funky, with a touch of barnyard, but nothing over the top—at least for my palate. Layers of spice, red fruit, flowers, and earth unfold quietly.
On the palate, it’s elegant, mineral, beautifully balanced, and full of nuance. Captivating, delicious, and quietly persuasive. I’m so glad I still have a few bottles left, though it’s getting harder and harder to resist their charm.
Following the Langhe by Piercarlo Culasso, this wine presents a more challenging, yet intriguing profile. It exhibits a distinctive funkiness with barnyard nuances, complemented by spicy, sanguine notes that enhance its charm. The fruit remains robust, reminiscent of wild strawberry stew, accompanied by hints of withered red flowers and an abundance of spices.
The palate is nuanced and mineral-driven, balancing subtlety with underlying power. Despite its complexity, the wine retains its captivating character, offering an engaging experience with each sip.
It's surprising how few notes I've taken on this gorgeous wine, given how many bottles I've enjoyed over the past two-plus years. The bouquet is sophisticated and charming, offering aromas of wild strawberry stew, withered red flowers, autumn forest floor, sweet spices, blood, and a hint of menthol. On the palate, it is subtle, nuanced, fresh, and mineral-driven. An incredible wine.
Tasted on the go, so little time to properly asset it. I like this style - light and sophisticated. Red berries, dried medicinal herbs, white pepper, raw meat, blood, and a tiny bit of VA. Elegant and delicious. Good tannin. Would love to taste it again.
