Tasting Notes
Typically clean and slightly restrained Zidarich style. A sophisticated bouquet of persimmon, bruised orange, wax, caramel and a hint of VA. Fresh and well-balanced with a long aftertaste. It's complex, though it doesn't fascinate while being intriguing. Curious case.
You know the evening is going to be challenging when you start it with (almost) 12 years old Malvasia from Carso. Strangely, it has a restrained bouquet of persimmon, old apricot jam (with juicy bits), caramel and VA (in tiny amounts). Fresh, even crisp palate with well-matured tannin. Almost perfectly balanced. It has a very long aftertaste with flavours of overripe persimmon, caramel and VA. Sophisticated and delicious wine.
