Fratelli Alessandria is a historic winery in the village of Verduno. Its story spans back to 1830 and is interleaved with the famous Barolo (e.g. when it transformed from semi-sweet wine to the “king of wines and wine for kings”).

A tough blend of Nebbiolo, Barbera and Freisa. Requires proper aeration. Pleasant bouquet of dried cherry, medicinal herbs (cola?), pomegranate, and earth. It’s not complex and has this unpleasantly young character on the palate, but well-made and pleasant otherwise.
