·@BorisThe 2004 felt livelier, even if it was already past its peak. Here, both the nose and the structure are clearly in decline. Still, it’s a beautiful, delicious wine. Dried berries, chocolate, leather, dried flowers, earth, mushrooms—balsamic too. The acidity is still holding up nicely, though the tannins are fading, and the structure isn’t quite there anymore.
That said, it’s still a pleasure to drink. Long finish, lovely flavours. Elegant in its way.
