Brunello di Montalcino Poggio Cerrino - 2016

This wine has an old-school and somewhat restrained character, yet it remains nice and reasonably sophisticated. Personally, I lean towards their Rosso of 2019 for its emotional impact and price point, but this bottle offers an intriguing experience. The nose is a tapestry of leather, mixed fruits, smoke, spices, earth, and a hint of old jam. On the palate, the fruit is mostly dried, leaving behind enticing notes of meat, musk, spices, and earth. It's a wine that invites you to listen closely to fully appreciate its nuances.
