Tasting Notes
Tasted blind. My first instinct was Canary Islands - there was that faint smoky and reductive edge on the nose - but it vanished quickly. Still felt island-y, so I pivoted to Sous Le Végétal, and guessed the producer. The bouquet was captivating - layered and a little wild: sea breeze, pickles, white flowers, apple pastries, and fried almonds. On the palate it was salty, mineral, well-structured, and just seriously delicious.
Wonderful bouquet, complex and alluring with maritime notes, pickles, white flowers, apple-filled bakery, and fried almonds. Salty, mineral, structured, and delicious. Not for everyone, for sure.
Tasted blind. Was thinking about Sicilian Carricante or something from Tenerife but with better acidity, turned out to be Muscat de Samos by Jason Ligas and Patrick Bouju (!). Rich bouquet of white flowers, sea, acacia, ripe and almost baked apple with some animal notes. Well structured and well balanced, with long mineral finish. Sophisticated and delicious.
