4.60 / 5.0750 ml@MI6 · Bordeaux: 5+1

This dynamic wine continued to evolve in the glass even after ample decanting, revealing layers of complexity. It narrowly missed being the wine of the night, edged out by the first wine that left a lasting impression.

The bouquet is captivating, with notes of old leather, fire-cooked meat, balsamic, pine, prunes, and a smoky essence. Subtle hints of night flowers and lead pencil add to its intrigue, with a notable absence of fruitiness. The wine is well-balanced and fresh, unfolding with flavors of mushrooms. Intense and generous, it's a remarkable wine, easy to fall in love with due to its evolving nature and depth.

Wine #6 on Bordeaux: 5+1 event.

Château Lafite Rothschild

Château Lafite Rothschild, established in the 17th century, is one of the most prestigious wine estates in Bordeaux. It has been under the ownership of the Rothschild family since 1868. Located in the Pauillac appellation on Bordeaux's Left Bank, the estate is renowned for its exceptional terroir and the production of some of the world's most sought-after wines.

Lafite Rothschild was one of the estates awarded First Growth status in the 1855 Bordeaux Wine Official Classification, a testament to its historical significance and enduring quality. The estate's vineyards are primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, which thrives in the gravel-based soils, contributing to the distinctive character and longevity of its wines. Château Lafite Rothschild is also known for its classical architecture and has been a symbol of the elegance and prestige of Bordeaux winemaking for centuries.
