This wine is about the duality that manifests in the nose and the mouth. On one side, it has notes of unripe fruits and apricot flowers combined with good acidity. On the other side, it has notes of green melon and ripe peach combined with structure from ageing on lees. Based on the rather short aftertaste and lack of freshness, I would say that this Picpoul is getting tired of life and regrets taking so much from lees. Besides, it has a slightly troubling bitterness in the aftertaste.
P.S. This is my first Picpoul and Picpoul de Pinet AOC.
