The grapes were picked by hands. It's a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Merlot (45%) and Petit Verdot (5%). The wine is aged for 16 months in French oak. Unfined and unfiltered.

Unfortunately, it's not my style. Although the 2020 Petit Castel is a well-made wine, it's too young and harsh. Intense bouquet of dark fruits, leather, tobacco and pine. Well-balanced, almost full-bodied and warm. The aftertaste is long with flavours of fruits, tobacco and dark chocolate. Not very complex.

Domaine du Castel is an estate of 40 hectares located in Yad Hashmona, west of Jerusalem, at an altitude of 700 meters. The vineyards are planted at high density and produce small yields (define small!).
