Tasting Notes
Actually, I remember this wine being heavier. After reading other people's reviews, it seems like Planeta adapted its style to modern preferences. As a result, it's fresh, well-balanced, well structured and mineral. Silicon, sunflower seed husks, yellow apples, tropical fruits, and butter. Almost full-bodied with a long and slightly bitter finish (someone eats apples with seeds, it seems). It lacks complexity, on the one hand. On the other hand, it's friendly and easy to enjoy.
About
Cometa is made in Dispensa estate in Menfi. Handpicked grapes are stripped of stems and sent to the press. 90% of the must is fermented in stainless steel and 10% in 225L barrels. After a certain period of maturation on fine lees, the wine is blended and prepared for bottling.
