Not overly complex, but beautiful Pinot Noir. Dried cranberry, barnyard and raspberry bubblegum. There are hints of benzene and sweat, but it's subtle and not disturbing. Medium-body, fresh with slightly elevated acidity and good tannin. The aftertaste is long and flavourful, with a charming touch of blood in the finish. I definitely like it more than a year ago.
My last attempt with this wine ended up with me willing to taste it again. Not sure if it's a bottle variation, but this time I like it less, because the palate is unfocused and is not friendly in a bad way. It's like drinking mors. Decanting doesn't really help. On the nose it's about cranberry, sweat with animal farm, which is actually good.
Julien Mareschal knows how to name his wines. Pinostradamus is definitely an interesting and not simple wine. Even controversial. Cranberry, horse sweat, cigar box and spices. It is fizzy, so either decant properly or enjoy/hate this little fact. Refreshing, well balanced with metallic touch. Nice, I would love to taste this wine once more but more thoughtfully.
Tasted as part of Na Uzbi膷膷i event.
