They say ageing is a must for Trebbiano by Emidio Pepe. I trust (unnamed) them, but whenever I have an opportunity, I try to test whatever claims THEY make. And you know, after tasting 2017, 2016 and 2015 in a relatively short time window, I tend to agree.
The wine offers a complex bouquet of stone fruits, sea breeze, benzene, honey and a bit of wet wool (I am just crying). It's fresh, round and delicious. The aftertaste is very long and has pleasant bitterness in the finish. Good balance.
As a result, I can't wait for a wine tasting dedicated to Emidio Pepe.
