Tasting Notes
Oh, how beautiful this is.
Very elegant and fine. Super mineral in both nose and palate - that high-altitude Valtellina minerality that runs through everything. Eucalyptus and forest floor, tea leaves (more like Ya'an cha specifically), dried raspberry, dried flowers, dry wood. A touch of smoke woven through.
The structure is magnificent. Still not ready - it's closed on the palate, holding back - but even in this tucked-in state, it's very classy. Complex, fine, multilayered. Delicious despite being shut down.
Initially, this wine appears a bit harsh and requires ample aeration to settle and reveal its true character. The nose is somewhat restrained at first, with hints of red fruits, eucalyptus, cola, dry wood, and forest floor. On the palate it's fresh, juicy, intense, and boasts a long finish. Despite being absurdly young, it presents a complex profile. The aftertaste is a delightful blend of blueberry and aged pressed bai mu dan, evoking an autumnal character.
