Tondonia 2007 red. This is a wine that I have issues with. It is old school and well made wine. It feels much younger than it is - mostly primary aromas (plum), secondary aromas (vanilla, spices and oak), and it has very high acidity that even hides high tannins. It is not vulgar, but I constantly feel that something is amiss here. Maybe it should be enjoyed in 2030, but now I would take something else.
First time tasting this wine and not sure if the bottle was spoiled. Medium brick colour. Closed aroma with elegant nose of vanilla, black fruits and spices, dust and prune. Medium-high tannins, high acidity, not structured at all, not balanced. Something is wrong with body. Long aftertaste, flavours of dust and prune. Instead of simply enjoying this wine, I was trying to figure out what exactly is so wrong with it. I lack experience to tell if it's simply because it passed its peak and now fading.
