This Barbera d’Alba is produced from vineyards in Barbaresco and Neive. The grapes are hand-harvested and mechanically pressed. Fermentation and maceration, lasting around 15-20 days, occur in steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 12-15 months in large Slavonian and Swiss oak barrels. Bottling is done in the waning moon phase, with no filtrations or clarifications.
Ratings
There are traces of cork taint, but not too much. Lovely bouquet of fruits, spices, and leather. Juicy and tannic, it craves food, yet it's delicious on its own. There's a certain sophistication to this wine. Initially, I planned not to rate it, but it still had so much to tell, so here we are. Obviously, I would love to taste this one again.
