Definitely an improvement over the 2022 - less wild, with cleaner, more expressive fruit. Still very much a table wine, but that's not a bad thing! It's simply enjoyable to drink. Bright acidity, more tamed tannins, better structure, and a generous mix of black fruits, licorice, a touch of earth, and leather. Simple, but well put together. A solid, easygoing wine.
This release is less exciting. Barnyard that fades over time to reveal some fruits, red flowers (sic!), porter beer and VA. Powerful, rustic and requires lots of food. Tannin is high and dry, just like sandpaper.
