Bruja de Rozas is a wine with character and complexity. Not necessarily in a good way. It’s better to decant it for at least 15 minutes to let it transform from a dirty leather boot of a villager into an elegant drink. Underbrush, raw meat, blood, cherry, plum, earth, musk, and spices. It lacks balance, feels quite rustic, savory and is aggressively mineral. Yet sophisticated and juicy.

Hehe. I drink this wine from time to time because I genuinely like it. So it was a pleasant surprise when the folks opened this bottle. Great high altitude Garnacha with character. Lots of leather, raw meat, underbrush, fruits and spices. Quite sophisticated. Medium-full body. Aye, rustic, but unlike Ladoix I tasted on the same evening, La Bruja de Rozas is juicy and well structured.
